Built the real-time SLAM and navigation pipeline for an AgileX Scout Mini in ROS 2, integrating FAST-LIO2 LiDAR-inertial odometry against a Livox MID-360 LiDAR and Intel RealSense D435if depth camera and validating 3D pointcloud and mapping output in RViz.
Brought up the Nav2 autonomous navigation stack on top of the odometry layer, resolving TF frame alignment between FAST-LIO2 and the Scout Mini base to produce a connected, navigable transform tree.
Designed the hardware architecture and integration plan, mapping power and data flow across a Jetson Nano, LiDAR, depth camera, and CAN bus motor control, and maintaining clean interface boundaries between hardware drivers and the application layer.
Debugged failures at the seams of the middleware stack, tracing hardware interface mismatches on the CAN bus, inter-process communication issues between ROS 2 nodes, and odometry misalignments in the Nav2 stack in a live real-time system.
Structured the multi-sensor data pipeline using a nuScenes-style schema to organize LiDAR and RGBD data, and reviewed sensor fusion and perception literature to guide the robot's autonomous navigation design.
